Pravčická Gate

Pravčická Gate and Edmund’s and Divoká Gorge are the most visited places in the Czech Switzerland and are really worth a visit. If you want to visit both places in one day, take a car or bus to Mezní Louka or Hřensko. If you start from Hřensko, first follow the yellow hiking trail through the Edmumdova Gorge, after 2 km you will reach the dock, from where you can continue only by boat, after the cruise you can either decide to climb out of the gorge to Mezná and continue through Mezní Louka to Pravčická Gate, or you can walk to the dock at Divoká Gorge and take a boat ride there. From here you can also get to Mezní Louka and then to the Pravčická Gate. At Mezní Louka, be sure to visit the U Fořta restaurant. From Mezní Louka, follow the pleasant trail (red tourist sign, Gabrielina trail) to the Pravčická Gate, on the left side you will have open views of the Czech Switzerland, on the right side you will follow the steep rock wall, on top of which the state border between the Czech Republic and Germany passes. At the Pravčická Gate you can refresh yourself in the Falcon’s Nest, don’t forget to climb to the opposite viewpoint to take pictures of the gate and the surrounding landscape. Afterwards, go down to Hřensko. The total length of this hike is about 15 km. Make sure you leave on time and arrive at the boat launch at Edmund’s Gorge before closing time. This hike can be split into two or three smaller hikes.
