Bad Schandau

Bad Schandau is a picturesque Saxon spa town located just a few kilometres from Hřensko. Many tourists come here to visit the Toskana Therme, but Bad Schandau is also the centre of the Saxon Switzerland National Park. In bad weather, we recommend visiting the National Park Visitor Centre, which has an interesting exhibition in both German and Czech. In better weather, Bad Schandau is a great base for visiting the Schrammstein rock massif. You can also take a ride in the 100-year-old outdoor elevator to the edge of the Elbe Canyon and see two lynx in the enclosure, then continue on to the picturesque village of Ostrau. Perhaps the biggest attraction is the historic tram ride through the picturesque valley of the Křinice River. The start of the tram is in the centre of Bad Schandau, after 30 minutes you will reach the final station Lichtenhainer Wasserfall, after bathing in the waterfall, we recommend going to the Kuhstall rock formation and then take the tram back to Bad Schandau.
